This was my first time at a range, so my experience is fairly limited. But I found that this range was accomodating and it served my purpose, which was to teach the family how to fire a pistol.

It was very inexpensive. $5 per shooter. The fee is good all day, so you can come and go as needed. There are discounts available. Targets, hearing protection, and protective glasses are available for purchase. Other facilities are limited.

The range is quite a distance from town. A good 13 miles and the road to the range is unimproved and extremly bumpy. I would recommend bringing plenty of ammo, and, if you are going to stay for awhile, bring drinks and food.

I have been stationed on and off near the Sierra Vista Shooting Range for almost four years. I can tell you that it has changed from better to worst in the last year alone. Today was a perfect example of how the leadership at this range is not in tune with supporting our soldiers. Due to complete miscommunication on the range organizer part, they threated to kick deploying soldiers off the range because it was not coordinated with them in advance. It is shame that we were not allowed to qualify and train prior to deployment because we were not members of the range.

I've visited the SV range several times over the last ten years- it's ALWAYS had poor access. The road in is not maintained, dirt and rocks, narrow and VERY ROUGH. Range masters are more interested in BS'ing than range management. Shooting intervals vary- no consistency. The range faces East, the benches are too close together, facilities are poor, open pit toilets,no water, little shade. It could be nice, if the managers cared.

Went to this range for the first time. The road is very bad going in. When I arived I met with the Range Master. He was very helpful in getting set up in the right spot for Pistol shooting, & with the rules of the range. The range was in good shape, & well run. It seemed like a good safe place to shoot. I will return.

the AK47 Blog
We started this blog in October 2008 to help keep our visitors up to date with updates and news about our websites and to offer yet another way to communicate with us.

We have been taking pictures of AK47s since 1997 when one of our editors purchased his first one. Over the years the hobbys of photography, websites and AK47s has led to many websites and LOTS of information.

This blog format lets us keep our photos and reviews organized and easy to find (we hope)

Enjoy the websites, let us know what we could do to improve them or cover things you are interested in

Let us know what kind of AK47 reviews, resources and information you would like to see !!
