Silver ribbon was used placed in a cut in the stock, then when in place the wood was put in water, which would swell the fibers in the wood to squeeze the silver ribbon in place
Some of the design was used to cover or hide screws and other parts used to keep the rifle together |

The tool used to "rifle" (spiral cut) the barrel to produce a spinning bullet and aid in accurate shots. A large drum holds the cutting tool, and the drum is made to twist. The drum is pushed in and out and the tool twists the cutting bit inside and through the new barrel |

The show described how the flint lock worked, and the parts that made up the rifle. Next they showed how to make the lock it's self, and even how to make some of the tools used to make the lock.
They also showed how the bullets were made with lead, poured into a mold that was built along with the rifle, and the tool used to to make the bullet mold |
