The GSG-5 is a very popular .22 lr version of the HK MP5. The GSG-5 is made by German Sports Guns (GSG) and imported by American Tactical Imports. The GSG-5 pistol is about 19 inches long with a 9 inch barrel, which is too short to add a stock to without creating a short barrel rifle. The paper work was filled out and sent in and the $200 federal tax was paid for this pistol to become an SBR (Short Barrel Rifle). The HK stock was then added to the pistol to create a very comfortable carbine. This SBR will be an excellent training firearm for someone who carries a standard 9mm HK MP5 in the line of duty.
